The Kai Dancer

A little behind the scenes (get it? behind the scenes?) FYI for the boyeeez back home. Just a little something we shot for a club in Santa Monica called MaKai awhile back. They wanted to have a moving "piece of art" that will be projected against a waterwall, life-size. We shot it in my backyard, using black sheets and a rigged waterfall set-up as it splashed down on her as she danced like a woman possesed. It was crazy! The water was pumped out of the hot tub on the roof of my place. We shot with 2 DV cameras, made it super slow-motion and then added crazy visual FX in Boris in the avid. She was painted up in black tribal body paint done up by my friend, Venice artist Star Oakland. The final effect is trippy and putting it together was, needless to say, a blast. Work work work!

I believe the weave pattern on my ass would make the painting a bit more difficult, not to mention the stench, which I'm quite sure would distract many of the artists.
